Haven't been able to "un feel" this first one since I first saw it.

And that's because we didn't tell them the entire family session:

“Smile.”
“Look at her.”
“Stop doing that.”
“Come back.”

I promise I have this.
You just love your kids. I'll get the magic.

I’m not waiting for your toddler to stand still.
We would all be here until Tuesday.

Let them move.
That’s where the good stuff usually happens anyway.

Newborn photography doesn’t have to be an all-day production.

Most of my families are surprised by how efficiently we can create a full gallery (just over an hour here for solo baby images, 3 older brothers with baby, family, and mom and dad with baby, and mom and dad with all 4 boys).

Experience matters. Especially when the smallest person in the room has a very short attention span and might come with older siblings who aren't far behind. We made a game plan for photographing Alexa's 4th baby boy in my studio and her family crushed it!

A couple new photos of me seem like a good excuse to reintroduce myself. So here are a few things you may or may not know.

1. I’ve been photographing Nashville babies and families since 2010. Which means some of my first newborns are now DRIVING. Rude.

2. The studio has approximately a million dresses for you to borrow. Okay, maybe more like 200+. But who’s counting?

3. I can get an entire family’s photos done in under an hour. Including your toddler who wants absolutely nothing to do with me and a dad who is ready to go from the jump.

4. This year has turned my life & future I planned completely upside down and inside out after 26 years with my husband ended, and it’s been both the most brutal time in my life while also finding the most beautiful new & unexpected beginning with someone. ❤️

5. I’ve spent over a decade teaching other photographers how to run profitable businesses. I didn’t go to college for photography but I was a music business major, so marketing and all of the business end is my jam. Turns out I love a good business strategy almost as much as a beautiful baby photo.

6. If you tell me you’re awkward in photos, I’ll politely ignore you. Everyone says that. It’s literally my job to make you look good and I can say I do my job well because every mom looks absolutely stunning imo.

7. I’m learning (by sheer unwelcome force) to embrace and sit with the unknown and the fact that no matter how much we plan, life just keeps throwing some curveballs and the highs are high and lows are low.

8. Peace above anything else. I think as we grow older wanting peace and happiness & safety and security is the key to life. And the key to the world.

9. 16 years in, I still think moms deserve to have photos they actually LOVE being in. Not just photos of everyone else.

So hi, I’m Jenny! Photographer, business owner, professional baby whisperer (unofficial title, don’t call me at 3am - I have recs for that, though), and the person who will tell your husband he’s already done when he asks how much longer.
